Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, thanked every soldier of the Land Forces for serving the Ukrainian people, defending their native land, and for their resilience and faith in our Victory.
This was stated in his message.
“Dear brothers- and sisters-in-arms! Today we mark the day of the largest branch of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — the Land Forces. The Land Forces are a power that unites mechanized and tank units, artillery and missiles, army aviation and air defense, unmanned and robotic systems, special forces and support units”, — he wrote.
The Commander-in-Chief emphasized that today this is an army of a new quality — thanks to which Ukraine has endured and continues to fight. According to him, at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, it was the land units that became the first shield against which the aggressor’s army broke its teeth.
“Our infantry defended Kyiv, drove out the invader with a swift advance during the Kharkiv offensive operation, liberated the right bank of Kherson region, destroyed Wagner in Bakhmut, and struck the enemy in the Kursk region. The Land Forces hold the front line of Ukraine’s defense. Fortifications are important, but they are nothing if there is no Ukrainian infantry in those defensive lines”, — Oleksandr Syrskyi stressed.
He noted that today the Land Forces are undergoing an unprecedented transformation directly on the battlefield. Unmanned aerial systems, ground drones, combat modules, modern electronic warfare systems, mobile assault groups — this is the new daily reality of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“I am proud to have had the honor of serving as the Commander of the Land Forces. And I have the honor today — to lead the strongest land army in Europe. On this day we honor every one of our brothers and every one of our sisters — the soldiers of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine in the fight against Russian invaders. Eternal memory and eternal glory to the Heroes”, — Oleksandr Syrskyi added.
