President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, during an audience with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, discussed the diplomatic situation and the readiness to expand humanitarian missions.

Volodymyr Zelensky reported this on social media.

As the Head of State noted, Ukraine greatly values all the support from Pope Leo XIV and the Holy See — the ongoing humanitarian assistance and the willingness to expand the presence of humanitarian missions.

“Today, during the audience with His Holiness, I thanked him for his constant prayers for Ukraine and Ukrainians, and for his calls for a just peace”, — the President said.

Volodymyr Zelensky informed the Pope about Ukraine’s diplomatic efforts with the United States aimed at achieving peace.

The sides also discussed further efforts and the Vatican’s mediation in returning our children who were abducted by Russia.

“I thank His Holiness for all efforts to support young Ukrainians. I am grateful for this conversation and all the attention to our people. I invited the Pope to visit Ukraine. This would be a powerful signal of support for our citizens”, — the Head of State stated.
