In London, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, President of France Emmanuel Macron, and Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz. The leaders discussed diplomatic efforts with the American side and further defence support for Ukraine.

This was reported by the Office of the President.

The President of Ukraine thanked Keir Starmer, Emmanuel Macron, and Friedrich Merz for organizing the meeting and for each leader’s personal contribution on the path to establishing a just and guaranteed peace.

The leaders discussed diplomatic work with the American side and coordinated a joint position and next steps.

“There are things that are very important today. I believe this is the unity between Europe and Ukraine, as well as the unity between Europe, Ukraine, and the United States”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.

Keir Starmer stressed the importance of supporting Ukraine and reaching an agreement that would guarantee a just and lasting peace.

“The principles remain the principles we have supported for a very, very long time, namely: we stand together with Ukraine. And that is why it is so important that we have repeatedly emphasized the principle that matters concerning Ukraine are decided by Ukraine itself”, — the UK Prime Minister said.

Emmanuel Macron expressed support for active work on the diplomatic track and emphasized that it is important to continue helping Ukraine.

“I believe that the key issue now is to unify our shared positions — those of Europeans, Ukrainians, and the United States — in order to finalize these peace talks and begin a new phase under the best possible conditions for Ukraine, for the Europeans, and for our common security”, — the President of France said.

Friedrich Merz noted that the coming days could be decisive for everyone and stressed the continued support for Ukraine.

“We continue to firmly stand by Ukraine and provide support to your country, because we all know: the fate of this country is the fate of Europe. That is why we are here — to understand what we can do. And no one should doubt our support for Ukraine”, — the German Chancellor stated.

The leaders emphasized that any peace plan must include ensuring Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, security guarantees from partners, and a full ceasefire.
