President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Kyiv is preparing a new round of talks in the United States.
This is stated in a publication by Volodymyr Zelensky.
It is noted that after the American delegation returns from Moscow and holds consultations in Washington, the negotiation track will be continued by the team of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov, and other members of the Ukrainian group.
Preparations for the next contacts
According to the President, Ukraine expects updates regarding the format of upcoming meetings — these may be either in-person negotiations or phone conversations. A continuous and intensive dialogue is ongoing between the partners.
Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that during the meetings in Geneva and Florida, Ukraine’s position “was heard and taken into account,” which is an important signal for continuing the talks.
Negotiations and pressure on the aggressor — two components of Peace
The President separately underscored that the world now feels a real window of opportunity to end the war. However, diplomatic activity must be accompanied by intensified pressure on Russia:
“Only by taking into account Ukraine’s interests is a dignified peace possible”.
According to Volodymyr Zelensky, it is precisely the combination of constructive negotiations and strong pressure on the aggressor that creates real prerequisites for peace.
