“They used dense fog”: Ukrainian forces stopped a Russian breakthrough into central Pokrovsk and eliminated groups near Hryshyne
The Defense Forces continue to hold the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad agglomeration, where the enemy has concentrated most of its troops. Taking advantage of the fog, the occupiers attempted to advance toward the center of Pokrovsk, but unsuccessfully. Due to significant losses, the Russian army is forced to commit operational reserves.
This is stated in the report of the “East” Operational-Strategic Group of Troops as of November 22.
FIGHTING IN URBAN AREAS AND AN ATTEMPT TO FLANK
In recent days, the occupiers have tried to use weather conditions to launch assaults.
“Using dense fog, the enemy attempted to advance into the central part of Pokrovsk. However, these actions were unsuccessful — the enemy is being eliminated in the urban area”, — the military reported.
The Defense Forces hold the northern part of the city and key positions south of the railway.
Unable to break through the defense with frontal attacks, the enemy tried to outflank Ukrainian positions. In particular, small groups attempted to reach the village of Hryshyne (northwest of the city), but all of them were destroyed.
THE SITUATION IN MYRNOHRAD
In the Myrnohrad area, the enemy employs similar tactics — attempts to infiltrate with small groups.
“These attempts are detected in time, and the enemy is neutralized. Ukrainian units are confidently holding the defense in the city”, — the “East” Group noted.
LOGISTICS AND RESERVES
The military reported on support measures:
- Enemy logistics — disrupted on the approaches; additional engineering barriers are being installed.
- Ukrainian logistics — alternative supply routes are being arranged.
“On the Pokrovsk axis, the enemy suffers the heaviest losses and is already forced to commit its operational reserve”, — the command summarized.
