President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is on a visit to Spain, where he held meetings with weapons manufacturers and the heads of both chambers of parliament. The main topics were strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, defense cooperation, and integrating the industrial capabilities of the two countries.
This was reported on the page of the President of Ukraine.
Defense technologies and talks with the Prime Minister
The Head of State said that he discussed with representatives of Spanish companies radars, drone technologies, and other systems capable of strengthening Ukraine’s defense.
“Powerful radars, drone technologies, the necessary equipment — all this means greater protection of life”, — the President noted.
A meeting with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is also planned to deepen defense partnership and develop joint production.
“The more bilateral ties with EU countries, the more integrated we are with Europe”, — Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized.
Talks with parliamentarians: air defense and European integration
The President met with the President of the Congress of Deputies, Francina Armengol, and the President of the Senate, Pedro Rollán.
They discussed the situation on the front lines, Russian attacks on infrastructure, and Ukraine’s acute need for additional air defense systems and the missiles for them.
The parties also discussed:
- the opportunities of the PURL and SAFE programs;
- continued humanitarian and energy support;
- the joint path of Ukraine and Moldova toward the EU.
“I thank both chambers of the General Cortes for supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty”, — the President summed up.
