EU Adds 1,600 Russian Individuals and Entities to Sanctions List
The European Union has added another 1,600 Russian individuals and entities to its sanctions list.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas announced.
According to Kallas, this is the largest single expansion of the sanctions list since the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.
She noted that half of the new entries are linked to ballistic missile production.
“We are doing everything we can to make the production of weapons Russia uses to kill Ukrainians significantly more difficult, slower and more expensive,” she stressed.
The decision was adopted at a meeting of EU foreign ministers.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had earlier urged international partners to respond to Russia’s daily escalation by increasing sanctions pressure.
“If the Russians have chosen to make their strikes even more brutal, the world must choose stronger responses to prevent the war from spreading further,” the President said.
