«Carrying the War onto Russian Territory»: Yevhenii Khmara Comments on the Strike on Moscow
The strike on Moscow on the night of Sunday, 20 September, is a telling example of carrying the war the Russians started onto their own territory.
Minister of Defence of Ukraine Yevhenii Khmara said this in comments on the attack on the oil refinery in Kapotnya and warehouses in Sofyino.
According to him, the refinery that was hit processes around 12 million tonnes of crude oil a year and supplies more than a third of the fuel market in the Moscow region.
It also produces significant volumes of diesel fuel and aviation kerosene, which Russian occupation forces use to fuel the military vehicles and aircraft they employ to terrorise Ukrainian civilians.
“Burning out facilities like these directly undermines the enemy’s ability to continue its war of conquest and sustain its troop groupings. All our deep and middle strikes are about carrying the war onto Russian territory,” Yevhenii Khmara stressed.
As ArmyInform reported earlier, Ukraine’s Defence Forces used a whole range of different weapons in the attack on Moscow, including Flamingo cruise missiles.
