Ukrainian Military Medics Share Their Experience of Using Ground Robots with Sweden’s Life Guards
Soldiers of the 1st Separate Medical Battalion of Ukraine's Ground Forces exchanged experience with the Swedish Armed Forces during a visit to Sweden.
Ukraine’s Ground Forces reported this.
In particular, the Ukrainian troops worked with representatives of the Swedish Life Guards, one of the oldest regiments in the world.
Founded more than five centuries ago, in 1523, by King Gustav Vasa, the unit remains the most prestigious component of the Swedish Armed Forces.
The Ukrainian side presented how military medicine is organised in the conditions of the full-scale war.
Particular attention was paid to evacuating casualties from the battlefield using unmanned ground vehicles.
The Swedish personnel were also shown the MAUL unmanned ground vehicle, developed on the basis of the 1st Separate Medical Battalion’s practical experience. They were introduced both to the concept behind the system and to how it is used in practice.
The Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces, General Michael Claesson, met with the Ukrainian service members and was briefed on Ukraine’s experience of medical evacuation and the use of unmanned ground vehicles.
Michael Claesson noted that Ukrainian troops are gaining this experience in war at the cost of blood, and thanked them for the opportunity to use it to strengthen Sweden’s security.
During the meeting, General Michael Claesson presented the commander of the 1st Separate Medical Battalion, Asan Charukhov, with the heraldic shield of the Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces. In return, Asan Charukhov gave the Swedish commander a patch of the 1st Separate Medical Battalion, which he put on straight away.
