Ukraine has received a €3.3 billion tranche from the European Union.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this.

According to him, the arrival of the funds was one of the results of his conversation the previous day with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

“A tranche of 3.3 billion euros from the EU financial support package has physically arrived. The funds will go first and foremost towards securing our defence, in particular with missiles and drones,” the President said.

Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi also confirmed receipt of the tranche.

The tranche is part of the broader Ukraine Support Loan programme, which provides up to €28.3 billion in 2026 to support Ukraine’s defence industrial capabilities.

During their conversation on 17 September, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ursula von der Leyen also discussed in detail the problem of financing Ukraine’s defence and agreed to continue the conversation at a meeting in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

The President noted that both sides are already preparing substantively for this meeting, at which Ukraine’s financial resilience will be one of the main issues.
