Ukrainian and Canadian defence companies are exploring opportunities for joint production, technological cooperation and building international supply chains.

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence reported this.

The topic was discussed at a National Defence Canada B2B event in Calgary. Ukraine was represented by Deputy Minister of Defence Hanna Hvozdiar.

The meeting took place during the Ukrainian delegation’s visit to Canada, in which President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part.

The event was also attended by representatives of Canada’s Department of National Defence, Canadian Joint Operations Command, and Ukrainian and Canadian defence companies.

Ukraine’s defence industry now comprises more than 900 companies. Key areas for further work include scaling up production, attracting investment, developing international cooperation and jointly creating new defence technologies.
