The bodies and remains of 252 fallen defenders have been returned to Ukraine as part of the latest repatriation.

The Security Service of Ukraine reported this.

The return was the result of joint work by the Joint Centre under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Coordination Headquarters, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, the State Emergency Service and other components of the security and defence sector.

The Security Service stressed that every such repatriation is underpinned by lengthy interagency work to bring fallen soldiers home and allow their families to say a dignified farewell.

In the near future, investigators and forensic institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will carry out the necessary examinations to establish the identities of those repatriated.

Work to return the bodies of Ukraine’s fallen defenders continues.
