Ukraine's Defence Intelligence is publishing data on the War&Sanctions portal about foreign equipment used to produce Geran drones in Alabuga.

The Defence Intelligence reported this on social media.

The publication covers lathes, milling and drilling machines, machining centres, industrial robots, automatic component placement machines, soldering robots and other equipment made by Chinese, German, Japanese, Swiss and Iranian manufacturers.

Among them:

  • a VMC 1000Q vertical milling machining centre produced by SMTCL (Shenyang Machine Tool Co., China);
  • an RS-1R automatic component placement machine from JUKI (Japan);
  • a Festo mechatronic production line (Germany) with a Melfa industrial robot from Mitsubishi (Japan).

Machining metals and other materials, mounting SMD components on printed circuit boards, training staff on specialised production lines — different processes, different equipment from different manufacturers, but one common goal: the mass production of weapons to terrorise civilians.

The Defence Intelligence calls on the world’s manufacturers of high-tech equipment that could be used to produce Russian weapons and military equipment to:

  1. Tighten end-user and end-use controls, including on-site inspections by authorised representatives at the declared installation address of the equipment.
  2. Extend enhanced control procedures to the spare parts, components, technical fluids, consumables, software, updates and servicing needed to operate the equipment.
  3. Regularly audit distributors, dealers and other intermediaries, particularly those supplying high-risk jurisdictions, and identify signs of re-export or a change of end user.
  4. Investigate cases in which their products are found in Russia’s defence industry, trace the supply chains involved and take action to stop further deliveries through the intermediaries concerned.
