Ukrainian USV strikes Russian support vessel NEFRIT in Sochi port
On Thursday, September 3, a Ukrainian unmanned surface vessel struck the Russian multipurpose support vessel NEFRIT in the port of Sochi.
On Thursday, September 3, the Ukrainian Navy reported the strike, publishing eyewitness video showing the aftermath of the attack.
According to the report, the vessel was one of the elements of the aggressor country’s maritime and energy infrastructure. It supported oil and gas operations, serviced offshore facilities, transported cargo and personnel, and carried out subsea technical work.
“Its activities directly supported the enemy’s war economy and the financing of its criminal aggression against Ukraine. The strike on NEFRIT is a blow to the enemy’s logistics, specialized capabilities and military-economic infrastructure. The Ukrainian Navy continues to deprive the enemy of the resources and capabilities needed to wage war and once again proves that even russia’s rear is not a safe harbor,” the statement said.
