Ukraine is urging partners to increase military aid and provide air defense missiles before the start of winter.

This was stated by Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara during a meeting of EU defense ministers chaired by EU High Representative Kaja Kallas.

According to Yevhenii Khmara, Ukraine needs to increase supplies of critical weapons and secure an additional approximately $27 billion to counter Russia’s air terror, the russian federation’s plans for mobilization, and the expansion of drone production.

Ukraine is calling on partners to allocate funds from national budgets to purchase Ukrainian-made drones, accelerate the provision of an EU loan, and resume discussions on the use of frozen Russian assets.

The minister separately called on partners to provide Patriot missiles from their own stocks to counter ballistic missiles, air-to-air interceptors to destroy cruise missiles, and ammunition for man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS) to counter jet-powered drones. Contributions to the PURL and JUMPSTART mechanisms also remain important.

Yevhenii Khmara emphasized that Ukraine and its partners are building a mutually beneficial model of cooperation.

“Every euro invested in Ukrainian defense is an investment in European security,” he said.

According to the minister, the Ministry of Defense, together with the military leadership, is expanding projects based on asymmetric solutions. A war plan is currently being prepared on their basis and will be presented to partners in the near future.

The Defense Minister thanked the European Union for its important support.
