AI Is Already at Work in DELTA: The Assistant Answers Troops 30 Times Faster and Eases the Load on Support Staff
DELTA's AI assistant is now available to everyone: it handles a quarter of all queries, has cut support requests by 27% and made responses 30 times faster.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence reported this.
The AI assistant operates within DELTA’s secure environment and generates answers solely from knowledge sources defined by the system.
AI helps reduce the load on the support service
Results from the new tool already point to its effectiveness. The AI assistant currently handles around 25% of all queries submitted through the web widget on its own.
As a result, the number of requests to the support service through this channel has fallen by roughly 27%, while users’ waiting time for a response has dropped thirtyfold.
What DELTA’s AI assistant can do
One of the tool’s capabilities is helping users while they are working in the system. A user can ask how to plot a route in DELTA, for instance, and immediately receive the relevant instructions with images and visual prompts.
There is no longer any need to spend time searching the documentation for the right section or waiting in a queue for a support specialist to reply.
The information required appears directly in the DELTA interface.
This makes it quicker to master the system’s functions, cuts the time spent looking for information and helps users carry out their tasks more promptly.
The assistant was tested before launch
Before the AI assistant was made available to all users, it was tested by units of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
During the pilot phase, the tool helped troops resolve common problems and, where its own answers were not sufficient, directed users to the relevant teams.
Feedback received during testing was used to improve the assistant’s answers and expand its knowledge base.
DELTA continues to introduce AI into the Defence Forces
The AI assistant is another step by DELTA towards using artificial intelligence technologies in the interests of Ukraine’s security and defence forces.
The system already includes tools for automatically detecting and identifying enemy equipment in photographs, video recordings and video streams.
Such technologies make it possible to automate part of the routine work of analysing information, improve troops’ situational awareness and free up more time for combat tasks and operational decision-making.
As ArmyInform reported earlier, artificial intelligence is already saving Defence Forces analysts up to 90% of the time spent searching for enemy positions and equipment in photos and video.
