President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded the Order of Liberty to Elon Musk, head of SpaceX and Tesla.

Decree No. 835/2026 to this effect was published on the president’s website on Wednesday, 26 August.

“For outstanding personal services in protecting human life and freedom and in developing relations between the peoples of Ukraine and the United States of America, I hereby decree: to award the Order of Liberty to Elon MUSK, entrepreneur, engineer and head of SpaceX and Tesla,” the document reads.

The Order of Liberty is one of the highest state decorations that Ukraine can confer on foreign nationals.

As ArmyInform reported earlier, SpaceX, together with specialists from Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence, restricted Russian occupation forces’ ability to use Starlink satellite communication terminals in the temporarily occupied territories.

This significantly disrupted the enemy’s command and control of its units. The enemy also lost the ability to use Starlink terminals on its attack drones.
