President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced new agreements on defence industrial cooperation with Finland.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on social media.

At a round table on Ukrainian-Finnish cooperation in the defence industries, which Volodymyr Zelenskyy chaired together with his counterpart, President of Finland Alexander Stubb, Ukrainian and Finnish companies signed documents on the implementation of joint defence projects.

These concern the development and production of drones in Finland for the needs of Ukraine and Europe, the development of capabilities in unmanned maritime systems, and the establishment of a facility producing unmanned ground vehicles.

According to Zelenskyy, the new projects are intended to combine Ukrainian combat experience with Finnish technology.

“Today we are taking another step towards deepening our cooperation, combining Ukrainian combat experience with Finnish technology,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.

The President thanked Alexander Stubb, the government, Finnish business and the people of Finland for their support for Ukraine.

Zelenskyy also noted the symbolism of the agreements being reached on the eve of Ukraine’s Independence Day and on National Flag Day.

“On these important dates — National Flag Day and the eve of Independence Day — we feel the value of true friendship especially keenly,” the President of Ukraine stressed.
