Acting Minister of Defence of Ukraine Yevhenii Khmara has held important talks with his Swedish and Norwegian counterparts, Pål Jonson and Tore Sandvik.

As reported, during the meeting he shared with them the conclusions he had drawn from his recent working trip to combat units.

According to the head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence, Ukrainian troops currently have specific needs for reconnaissance and middle-strike drones, which require financial support from partners.

Another priority, Yevhenii Khmara said, is countering Russian ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and jet-powered drones.

The parties also discussed long-term projects, in particular the development of FREYJA, the European anti-ballistic project initiated by Ukraine.

“With each partner separately, we discussed the areas of our cooperation. With my Swedish counterpart — the steps to be taken by the end of the summer and the further development of aviation capabilities. With my Norwegian counterpart, we focused on joint projects in the defence industry and on strengthening air defence through various support mechanisms,” the head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence said.
