Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces have struck an enemy S-400 Triumf surface-to-air missile system, along with a number of other important enemy targets.

Major Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, reported this on his Telegram channel on Sunday, 9 August.

According to him, the S-400 was destroyed in Gelendzhik, near the so-called “Putin’s dacha”, which became widely known following a journalistic investigation in 2021.

The site is a 68-hectare residence of the Russian dictator on Cape Idokopas, built in 2010. Its cost is estimated at around a billion dollars. The grounds include an underground ice palace, a church, an 80-metre bridge “for access to the tea house”, and a separate tunnel leading down from the palace to the sea.

“The Birds finally got that Gelendzhik popgun of an air defence system, which on 8 August, between 9:25 and 12:51, launched six missiles. For three hours the S-400 position in Gelendzhik burned and sputtered on the shore, right next to the catacombs,” the statement reads.

In addition, Ukrainian drones hunted down four more elements of Russia’s air defence and three shadow fleet vessels overnight.

The occupiers thus lost:

  • an S-400 Triumf air defence position, Gelendzhik, Krasnodar Krai, Russia — 413th Raid Separate Regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • a Tor air defence system, Pudovyi, Rostov region, Russia — 1st Separate Centre of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • a Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system, Yeysk, Krasnodar Krai, Russia — 1st Separate Centre of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • a Podlyot-K1 radar station, Holovativka, Rostov region, Russia — 1st Separate Centre of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • a Kasta 2E2 radar station, Latonovo, Rostov region, Russia — 1st Separate Centre of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • one oil tanker, Black Sea waters — 413th Raid Separate Regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces;
  • two dry cargo vessels, Black Sea waters — 413th Raid Separate Regiment of the Unmanned Systems Forces and the 412th Nemesis Separate Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
