“FPV drones are my life”: 18-Year-Old “Multyk” joins the Pathfinder Battalion
An 18-year-old servicewoman with the callsign “Multyk” has joined the Pathfinder Battalion of the 115th Brigade to become an FPV drone operator.
This was reported in a video published on the page of Operational Command North.
Multyk said that she had wanted to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the very beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
She waited until she came of age and, after turning 18, began looking for an opportunity to enlist.
“I waited until I turned 18, and that’s why I’m here”, — she said.
According to the servicewoman, she has adapted easily, while her brothers- and sisters-in-arms have been helping her through this new stage of her life. She says she had already become accustomed to wearing a military uniform while still a civilian because many of her friends and acquaintances served in the military.
“I put on the uniform and realized: it’s exactly where I belong”, — Multyk said.
She also emphasized that she deliberately chose the FPV drone field because it is much more than just a military specialty for her.
“FPV drones are my life. They motivate me to study, understand how they’re built, learn every detail, and work with drones all the time”, — the servicewoman said.
She is now preparing to undergo Basic General Military Training (BGMT). According to Multyk, the training does not intimidate her because she understands that she needs to learn and prepare for military service.
She joined the 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade through the Reserve+ recruitment platform: she submitted an application, after which recruiters contacted her.
“When I realized I had joined the 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade, I was genuinely overjoyed that I was here and would be able to help”, — she said.
In the future, Multyk sees herself as an experienced servicewoman contributing to Ukraine’s defense.
“A good, strong, and motivated soldier”, — she said.
