Denmark to Deliver Additional 15,000 Long-Range Artillery Shells to Ukraine
Denmark will provide Ukraine's Defence Forces with an additional 15,000 long-range artillery shells, with part of the shipment already delivered to Ukraine.
Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced the decision.
“Our team is working continuously to increase both the volume and the effectiveness of international assistance to Ukraine. Together with our partners, we are focusing resources on solutions that deliver the greatest impact on the battlefield,” the minister said.
According to Fedorov, the Ministry of Defence has three unwavering priorities: air defence, long-range artillery, and Ukrainian-made drones. These areas remain at the centre of the ministry’s efforts.
“We are working to ensure that every dollar of partner funding is used as effectively as possible. We are fighting for every dollar of international support,” he said, describing cooperation with Denmark as a clear example of this approach.
Fedorov noted that Ukraine proposed adjusting part of the assistance package already planned by its partners by redirecting resources from short-range artillery to long-range capabilities.
“We suggested that our partners reconsider part of the support already allocated and shift resources from short-range artillery to long-range solutions. Denmark responded to this request without delay,” the minister stated.
As a result, Ukraine’s Defence Forces will receive an additional 15,000 long-range artillery shells, with part of the ammunition already on Ukrainian territory.
“Long-range munitions are among the frontline’s most pressing requirements today. As the enemy’s drone kill zone continues to expand, these shells enable our forces to strike Russian troops, logistics hubs, and command posts more effectively while reducing risks to our service members,” Fedorov stressed.
