Operators of the SSU’s Alpha Special Operations Center successfully struck Russian military support vessels in temporarily occupied Kerch.

The Security Service of Ukraine reported the operation.

The vessels were located at the Zaliv Shipyard. The strike was carried out in fulfillment of tasks assigned by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as part of a 40-day campaign targeting the Russian Federation.

Russian air defense assets in the Kerch Strait area were also struck.

During the special operation, SSU drones hit the Project 15310 cable-laying vessels Volga and Vyatka, as well as the cargo-passenger ferry Petropavlovsk, which was 96% complete. The strikes caused large-scale fires aboard all three vessels.

Volga and Vyatka were being built for the Russian Ministry of Defense. Their purpose is to deploy the Harmony underwater acoustic surveillance system for underwater military reconnaissance.

In addition, they are capable of laying influence mines designed to target ships, underwater pipelines, cables, and other critical infrastructure facilities. Each of these vessels is worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

SSU drones also struck weapons systems and a radar station belonging to an S-400 surface-to-air missile system that had been protecting the Kerch Strait area.

The SSU’s systematic campaign against Russian military infrastructure in temporarily occupied Crimea is depriving the enemy of the ability to use the peninsula as a logistical and military hub.

The destruction of air defense systems opens the way for further precision strikes, while disabling ships and port infrastructure undermines the occupiers’ ability to sustain their forces.
