Most of the captured Russians had only a week of training
The situation in the Pokrovsk sector remains stable and under the control of Ukrainian defense forces.
This was reported by Major Ihor Shafigulin, an officer with the National Guard of Ukraine’s 3rd Special Operations Brigade “Spartan.”
“The enemy continues to attempt assaults. They use artillery systems of various calibers, mostly 120mm mortars and tube artillery, as well as strike drones,” the officer noted.
According to him, the enemy is trying to build up reserves for further attacks.
“After brief training, which lasts a maximum of a month and sometimes only a week, recruits are immediately thrown into battle. We receive this information, in particular, from prisoners of war,” said Ihor Shafigulin.
The officer added that the enemy’s tactics involve chaotic movements of small groups, mostly at night.
“They move under the cover of thermal-insulated robes, which makes them harder to detect. They operate less frequently during the day and more often at night to complicate the work of our intelligence,” he explained.
In addition, the occupiers actively use motorcycles and electric scooters.
“This is used more as a diversionary tactic. The main groups try to advance on foot, while the vehicles help distract our attention,” emphasized Ihor Shafigulin.
