Massive Russian attack on Kyiv kills at least 4 people
Four people were killed as a result of a massive air strike on Kyiv overnight on June 2. This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Currently, 58 casualties have been reported in the capital. Among them, 40 people, including two children, have been hospitalized.
As a result of enemy strikes, residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were damaged in the Podilskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Obolonskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, Holosiivskyi, Pecherskyi, and Darnytskyi districts, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Situation by Districts:
Podilskyi District: A strike on a 9-story residential building caused the partial destruction of the upper floors. People may be trapped under the rubble. Currently, 5 casualties are known. Rescue operations are ongoing. At other locations, vehicles caught fire in open areas; a fire broke out in a 4-story building on the premises of an educational institution; and vehicles and a warehouse building are on fire on the territory of a municipal enterprise.
Solomianskyi District: A fire broke out in an apartment on the 16th floor of a 20-story residential building. A private residential house on a private property also caught fire. Additionally, a fire erupted on the 9th floor of a 24-story residential building; rescuers successfully extracted one man.
Holosiivskyi District: A fire broke out on the premises of a marketplace, destroying the 2nd and 3rd floors of a building. At other locations, several cars, office spaces, and commercial buildings caught fire, and one business center was damaged and set ablaze.
Sviatoshynskyi District: open facade and window glazing damage occurred in a 5-story residential building. At another location, minor damage was reported to the roof of a 9-story residential building.
Shevchenkivskyi District: Partial damage was caused to the facade and roof of a 9-story residential building.
Darnytskyi District: A fire broke out on the premises of a gas station.
Pecherskyi District: Minor damage occurred on the site of an unfinished construction project.
Obolonskyi District: A construction trailer caught fire on a construction site.
All emergency services are working on-site to liquidate the consequences of the attack.
