Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his Romanian counterpart Nicușor Dan discussed increasing the energy and economic strength of both nations.

The meeting became known about on the evening of March 12.

“We are working on expanding cross-border energy cooperation — we are building two new electricity supply lines with Romania.

It is also important that we jointly implement projects in the field of extraction on the Black Sea shelf”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.

The sides also discussed projects in the oil and gas sector, particularly the possibility of transporting American LNG for Ukraine through Romania.

Ukraine and Romania are also working on opening new border crossing points already this summer.

“I thank Romania for its principled position throughout all these years of Russia’s full-scale war. Ukraine and Romania are natural strategic partners.

The geography of our region, security challenges, and the economic needs of our peoples — all of this shows that cooperation between us should only increase”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
