Strikes on Rubikon facilities were carried out simultaneously: Unmanned Systems Forces comment on strikes in Zaporizhzhia
Strikes against facilities related to Russia’s use of unmanned systems are one of the priority areas of combat operations for the Unmanned Systems Forces.
Systematic work in this area is carried out regardless of which structures or units are involved on the enemy’s side.
This was emphasized in an exclusive comment to ArmyInform by the spokesperson of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major Olha Meloshyna.
“Units of the Unmanned Systems Forces grouping systematically carry out tasks to detect and strike enemy military facilities, particularly those directly related to the use of unmanned systems”, — she said.
Earlier, ArmyInform reported that the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces struck four facilities of the enemy special unit Rubikon in temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region:
- a temporary deployment point;
- warehouses;
- a repair base;
- a UAV workshop.
These targets were struck simultaneously in four different settlements in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region.
Rubikon is a specialized unit of the Russian Ministry of Defense created in August 2024 on the basis of UAV combat units.
Its tasks include the development and testing of new unmanned systems, training of instructors and drone operators, and cooperation with the “people’s defense industry” to introduce new technologies.
In fact, Rubikon has become the core of Russia’s program to form “unmanned systems troops” and is being used in the war against Ukraine.
“The work continues constantly and is aimed at reducing the enemy’s capabilities regardless of which units or structures are involved on their side.
The effectiveness of the Unmanned Systems Forces units also influences enemy actions, forcing them to constantly take into account the threat of strikes on their facilities and resources”, — the spokesperson emphasized.
