On the Lyman axis, UAV operators fly out to strike enemy artillery in pairs or groups of 2–3 drones, attacking the target one after another.
This allows them to first expose the artillery system by destroying its protection and camouflage, eliminate Russian troops returning fire, and then strike the gun from the most advantageous angle.
This was stated in an exclusive comment to ArmyInform by the commander of a unit of the Signum battalion, call sign “Zorya”.
— We manage to destroy or hit guns quite often because it is a static target.
On our axis, we most often encounter towed artillery: D-20, D-30, and 2A65 “Msta-B”. Less frequently we come across museum pieces like the M-46, he said.
As ArmyInform previously reported, recently drone operators of the Signum battalion destroyed five enemy guns and burned 13 “bukhanka” vans.
The effectiveness of Ukrainian drone operators has forced the Russians to camouflage their guns much more carefully.
— The enemy is also adapting and now treats camouflage and protection of artillery much more seriously.
Six months ago it took just one drone to destroy a gun — it was enough to hit the barrel with a cumulative munition. It wasn’t very difficult.
Now the enemy hides their guns with branches and nets. Sometimes you can’t even see the barrel, — the soldier said.
However, Ukrainian drone pilots have found an effective countermeasure. More drones are required, but the result is guaranteed — the enemy guns are hit and destroyed.
— Now we have changed tactics — two or three crews simultaneously fly to a gun, coordinating their actions so that the first drone clears the way for the second, — the UAV pilot explained.
The first strike destroys the cover and camouflage of the enemy artillery piece and eliminates the occupiers who return fire.
This allows the second drone to safely strike the artillery system itself from the most advantageous angle.
In addition to towed artillery, drone operators sometimes manage to hunt down self-propelled artillery systems, although they are encountered less frequently.
— Occasionally we come across the 2S3 “Akatsiya”. Recently we damaged one and destroyed another. But on our axis, the Russians mostly have towed artillery, — “Zorya” said.

Bohdan, callsign “Maniac” — it sounds harsh, but at the front callsigns often appear in moments when someone does a little more than what is expected of them.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine explained why PAC-3 missiles for the Patriot system are one of the key elements in protecting Ukraine’s skies.
Four Ukrainian paratroopers stormed a Russian position: four occupiers were captured, while one was eliminated on the spot after resisting.
The occupiers are actively adopting the technical innovations and tactical approaches of Ukrainian UAV operators — it takes them only two to three months.
Russia’s losses at the front have exceeded the replenishment of the enemy army for three consecutive months.
Strikes against facilities related to Russia’s use of unmanned systems are one of the priority areas of combat operations for the Unmanned Systems Forces.
