On the night of March 9, Russia carried out a combined air attack on Ukraine: the enemy launched two ballistic missiles and about 200 strike drones.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the military, starting at 18:30 on March 8 the enemy attacked with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles. The launches were carried out from the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

At the same time, the Russians deployed 197 strike UAVs, including Shahed-type drones, as well as Gerbera, Italmas, and other imitation UAVs.

The launches were carried out simultaneously from several directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo in Russia, and Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. About 120 of them were Shaheds.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data as of 08:00, air defense shot down or suppressed 161 strike UAVs in the north, south, and east of the country.

At the same time, two missiles and 36 strike UAVs hit eight locations, and debris from downed targets fell at one location.

“The attack is ongoing, several enemy UAVs remain in the airspace. Follow safety rules!” — the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement.
