Cruise missiles, “Zircons,” and strike drones: russians attacked several regions of Ukraine overnight
During the night of February 22 (from 19:00 February 21), the enemy launched a combined strike on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
This was reported by the Air Force of the AFU.
The enemy used strike UAVs and air- and ground-launched missiles.
A total of 345 aerial threats were detected:
- 4 “Zircon” anti-ship missiles (launched from Crimea)
- 22 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles (launched from Bryansk, Belgorod regions of russia, and occupied Donetsk region)
- 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles (launched from Vologda region, russia)
- 2 Iskander-K cruise missiles (launched from Kursk region)
- 4 Kh-59/69 guided missiles (launched from Kursk region)
- 297 strike UAVs (Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and others), approx. 200 of them Shaheds
Main attack directions: Kyiv region, Odesa region, Kirovohrad region, Poltava region.
Air defenses — aviation, air defense missile units, EW units, UAV units, and mobile fire groups — repelled the attack.
As of 10:00, 307 targets were shot down/suppressed: 33 missiles and 274 UAVs.
Confirmed intercepts include:
- 2 “Zircon” missiles
- 8 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles
- 17 Kh-101 cruise missiles
- 2 Iskander-K cruise missiles
- 4 Kh-59/69 missiles
- 274 enemy UAVs of various types
There were 14 missile hits and 23 UAV impacts across 14 locations, as well as debris falling in 5 locations.
