Service members of the 152nd Separate Jäger Brigade captured a citizen of Colombia who had been fighting on the side of Russian occupation forces.

This was reported on the brigade’s Facebook page.

According to the detainee, in Russia he had been promised “legal employment” in a hotel and high earnings. However, when he violated the permitted period of stay in the country, he was immediately sent to the Russian army and then to the front line — to assault the positions of Ukrainian troops.

“I was deceived, they told me that for some time I would only be watching over trucks. As a result, I ended up in the trenches”, — the Colombian said.

Ukraine acts in accordance with the norms of international humanitarian law and the requirements of the Geneva Conventions, the 152nd Brigade emphasized. The prisoner received the necessary assistance and proper treatment guaranteed by international obligations.
