Severe frost does not affect the combat performance of Ukraine’s air defenders. Both people and equipment endure the low temperatures with difficulty, but no on

Their story was shared on the Facebook page of the Air Command “West”.

Units of the Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment named after the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen repel enemy attacks in all weather conditions.

“The basis of our combat readiness is clear organisation of service and responsible maintenance of equipment”, — says Kostiantyn.

He is the commander of a division equipped with the IRIS-T air defence system.

Continuous operation of the system is ensured by constant monitoring of its condition and the readiness of personnel to operate in the harshest conditions.

“In civilian life, if your car won’t start in the cold, you can return home or call a taxi. We can’t do that. We have only minutes to get all the complex systems and mechanisms running — and enormous responsibility for the results of combat work”, — emphasises Ihor, chief operator of the IRIS-T launcher.

His team also includes deputy chief operator Taras and driver-electrician Andrii.

“We’ve already gotten used to making quick decisions and performing tasks in the toughest conditions. We’re combat-ready around the clock”, — says Taras.

The system’s performance during extreme frost confirmed the reliability of the equipment and the professionalism of the crew.

“It’s work at maximum RPM. The team proves to itself and the whole country that we can successfully operate under any conditions”, — the division commander says.
