She speaks simply and honestly about her path, her choice to become a UAV operator, and why she is here today.

She is 21. Callsign — “Mala”. She is from Avdiivka — a city the enemy tried to wipe off the face of the earth.
She recently signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is now undergoing basic military training in the 5th Heavy Brigade.
“Mala” says that she wanted to join the military at 18, but her parents insisted she finish her studies at medical college.
After completing her studies, she began researching ways to join the Defense Forces. After seeing an interview with the commander of her future unit, she decided she wanted to serve specifically in the 5th Heavy Brigade.
Considering her age, she was able to join the military under the “Contract 18–24” program. She says she is now studying to become a UAV operator, but in the future wants to try herself as a combat medic.
The enemy is attempting to develop the production of naval drones and copy successful Ukrainian practices — both technical solutions and tactics.
