Volodymyr, a fighter of the Volyn Border Guard Detachment, is 58 years old and has spent two years guarding the state border with Belarus.

He serves in a mobile fire group that hunts Russian “Shaheds” during air-raid alerts — sometimes up to three alerts per night.

Volodymyr’s younger son, the first to put on a uniform, is now fighting in the East. The older son, Mykhailo, previously a driver, now serves as a drone operator.
