President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed changes in the work of air defense with the military.
He spoke about this in his evening address.
“Today I had a long conversation with the military — the Commander-in-Chief, the Chief of the General Staff, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine. Many changes are taking place now in the work of air defense: in certain regions the way the crews operate — interceptors, mobile fire groups, the entire component of short-range air defense — is being rebuilt almost completely”.
According to him, this is only one of the elements of defense that require changes.
“There will be changes. This also concerns control over supplying the front with drones, weapons, and most importantly — personnel. People are the key issue: training, as well as real reinforcement of brigades”, — Zelensky noted.
The Minister of Defense and military leadership are preparing decisions that will strengthen Ukraine and resolve existing problems.
“It is too early to make the details public now. When the decisions are fully finalized, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and our army will present them to society”, — the President said.
He informed that preparations are underway for two systemic security events that will take place this week.
“The first is a meeting in the format of defense ministers of the states that stand with Ukraine. There will be new support packages for our defense. The second format is the Munich Security Conference. Ukraine will participate in its work; it is important that Ukraine’s signals be heard by Europe, by America, by all our partners. I am confident they will be. We need more joint activity for security. More joint production, more modern developments and, of course, more coordination”, — Zelensky concluded.
