A fighter with the callsign “Padre” dreamed of joining the ranks long before turning 18. He simply says: his friends are fighting, holding the front—so he must be there with them.

His story was published by the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Ivan Sirko.

Without loud words. With the understanding that it is not easy, but truly the right thing to do.

“I wanted to join when I was 17, because my friends were fighting. I got into the 92nd Brigade through a recommendation from acquaintances. The first day was very difficult because although I had trained before, it wasn’t often”, — he recalls.

According to him, the unit has a friendly working atmosphere and communication. Everyone helps each other.

“Padre” noted that one must prepare physically, at the very least, but also mentally. Learn topography not to get lost in the forest, and communicate clearly to make sure everything goes well.

“What impressed me most was wound packing — a truly useful skill. And assaults — there were real intense battles. You’re moving forward, and suddenly shots come from somewhere, and you don’t even understand from where. A bit of an unusual situation. Duty in the trenches was really cool too. We stormed a trench, took it, and set up circular defense there”, — the fighter says.

He chose the specialty of FPV-drone operator because he really enjoys flying drones.

“I flew real drones and simulators before. When I arrived at the base, the guys also taught me how to assemble them. I worked in the workshop while waiting for my basic military training. I assembled drones and flew them. And with each day I liked it more and more”, — says “Padre”.

To those who hesitate now, the fighter advises not to focus on fears.

“Talk to those who already serve. Look them in the eyes. And make your choice with your heart”, — he concluded.
