Mobile fire groups to become more effective: President sets deadlines for strengthening air defense
The President of Ukraine held a coordination meeting on the consequences of the massive Russian strike. The enemy used more than 400 strike UAVs and nearly 40 missiles, deliberately targeting facilities critical for the operation of nuclear power plants.
This was reported by Volodymyr Zelenskyi on his official Telegram channel.
The head of state emphasized that a significant part of the 400 drones launched were Shaheds. The attack caused substantial damage to the energy infrastructure, resulting in power outages across almost the entire country.
Special attention during the meeting was dedicated to air defense. According to the President, there was a “rather tough conversation” regarding the effectiveness of mobile fire groups (MFG).
“In the coming days, regional leaders, the Air Force Command, and the Ministry of Defense must ensure additional reinforcement of the mobile fire group component within the overall air defense system of key regions”, — Zelenskyi instructed.
The President stressed that the Russians deliberately targeted infrastructure that ensures the operation of nuclear power plants. This poses a threat not only to Ukraine but to the entire European region.
“Russia is not showing readiness to end this war anytime soon. Both on the front line and with such massive strikes, the Russian Federation continues its policy of the actual destruction of Ukraine”, — the President stated.
Ukrainian diplomats have been instructed to accelerate work with partners on new air-defense aid packages, and the government—to expand support programs for the population.
