On the Vovchansk axis, a ground robotic complex of the Defense Forces successfully evacuated a Ukrainian soldier who had spent 275 days on a frontline position.

The 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Koshovyi Otaman Kost Hordiienko shared video of the rescue operation.

It is reported that Vladyslav and his comrades held the defense in Vovchansk, Kharkiv region. During this time, he participated in repelling numerous Russian assaults and even managed to destroy a strike drone with small arms. However, he sustained several injuries during combat engagements.

Due to the high activity of enemy drones along the supply routes, our defenders were unable to safely evacuate him by vehicle, and walking the route was impossible given his condition.

The greatest challenge was the proximity of Russian assault groups, located literally tens of meters away.

A decision was made to evacuate the wounded soldier using an NRC of the 57th brigade’s repair and recovery battalion, but it managed to reach Vladyslav only on the fourth attempt, which lasted two days.

“The NRC tried several times to reach the infantryman’s position. We were also waiting for snowfall to safely move the wounded to the evacuation point. On the way, the robotic complex got stuck in a puddle, so our soldiers from a nearby position pulled it out, and then the NRC encountered a group of occupiers. They were eliminated by a combat NRC of our adjacent unit, and then we were able to continue the mission”, — the report noted.

The soldier, who held the defense in Vovchansk for nearly eight months, is now undergoing treatment. He has been submitted for a state award.
