“Some lived on ice, others on whatever they could find” — a massive wave of “disposable infantry” pushes toward Lyman
On the Lyman axis, only in January, the drone battalion of the 63rd Brigade eliminated 654 occupiers. This directly indicates that the city of Lyman is under enormous pressure.
This was described on Army TV by Rostyslav Yashchyshyn, head of a department of the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade.
According to him, a simply enormous amount of “disposable infantry” is advancing. The occupiers, without any pauses, continue their “infiltration”, trying to break into Lyman. They are supported by drones. That is why, in the brigade’s area of responsibility, the number of suppressed drones is at a record high — more than one and a half thousand FPVs and “Molniyas” neutralized by the electronic warfare service in January.
“In other words, the numbers keep growing. For example, in the fall there were around a thousand drones per month — and that was normal. Now it’s 1,600. And our personnel numbers remain more or less stable — we destroy 500–600 ‘russaks’ every month”, — Yashchyshyn said.
But this does not stop the wave of Russian disposable assault troops who advance and hide in shelters.
“Our latest interesting incident was when we saw from the air that three Russians crawled into some shed. Our battalion commander took the deputy chief of staff and the mortar platoon commander. So, three officers took rifles, cleared the basement, and captured these three Russians. They said they had no real support. They ate ice or whatever they could find. They said they asked for help but never received it”, — Yashchyshyn recounted.
