Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov held talks with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, UK Defense Secretary John Healey, and Germany’s Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, during which the parties discussed key support priorities ahead of the next “Ramstein”-format meeting.

Fedorov reported this on the evening of February 3.

“The focus is on concrete decisions that save lives and strengthen defense capability right now,” the Minister noted.

He named the following priorities for Ukraine:

Strengthening Air Defense

Coordination with partners continues regarding the urgent acquisition of additional air defense assets, including interceptors to protect Ukrainian skies. Ukraine expects significant contributions during the “Ramstein” meeting.

PURL Funding

Key objectives within the PURL program have been defined. Ukraine expects to secure support in 2026 for the procurement of critically important weaponry.

European Resource

They separately highlighted the possibility of directing funds from the EU’s €90 billion support package to Ukraine’s priority defense needs.

“2025 became the most productive year in terms of international aid — $45 billion. In 2026, partners are determined to ensure an even higher level of support.

My thanks to NATO, the United Kingdom, and Germany for their critically important assistance to Ukraine and their leadership in the ‘Ramstein’ format,” Fedorov wrote.

The next Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in the “Ramstein” format will take place on February 12 at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.
