In January 2026, the largest number of Russian air-dropped guided bombs (KABs) on the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and frontline settlements was recorded — over 5,700.
This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on February 3.
The previous maximum was in October 2025, when over 5,300 KABs were used.
On January 18, the Russian army dropped the largest number of guided aerial bombs — 316 bombs — the maximum use in one day during the entire war.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, more than 5,300 combat engagements were recorded during the month (in December 2025 — over 5,500). The hottest day at the front was January 31 — 338 combat engagements.
Overall, in the first month of the year, Russian forces conducted over 113,000 shellings, including more than 2,400 from multiple rocket launchers.
