“He is very hard to kill, he hides and runs” — on the Sloviansk axis, both defense and offense depend on the weather
On the Sloviansk axis, in the area of responsibility of the 54th Brigade, the intensity of combat operations has not decreased and is not decreasing. The enemy uses the tactic of small infantry groups. They seep through, infiltrate the battle formations of Defense Forces units.
Master Sergeant Maksym Bakulin, senior sergeant of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa, spoke about this on the air of the “United News” telethon.
According to him, the enemy is advancing toward Sloviansk and is using all available means to do so. For logistics, they use ground robotic systems and large multi-rotor drones — octocopters and hexacopters. They advance, accumulate, and then conduct micro-assaults. Winter weather has its pros and cons for both attackers and defenders. For defense, it is very convenient that enemy assault infantry have difficulty moving through snow. But that does not mean enemy infantry are easy to spot.
“He is very hard to kill because he hides and runs. At the moment, winter has really made its adjustments — both positive and negative. The lack of vegetation allows us to see movement. But at the same time, on snow, a completely white surface, it’s very easy to hide. A white camouflage suit, certain thermal-vision cloaks that do not reflect a heat signature on snow — these allow the enemy to hide”, — the senior sergeant of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa said.
