‘They Are Driven Forward, Forced Out of Shelters’: Near Pokrovsk, Untrained Russian Infantry Dies First
In the Pokrovsk direction, in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, a defensive operation of the Defense Forces is ongoing. The enemy attacks in waves, using “expendable material” as cover.
This was stated on air of Suspilne Novyny by Volodymyr Polovyi, Head of the Communications Department of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces.
According to him, the northern part of Myrnohrad and Pokrovsk is currently under partial control of the Defense Forces. The enemy continues attempts to envelop Ukrainian positions from the north and from the side of Kotlyne. From time to time, the occupiers rotate units that have been worn down in active offensive actions.
“This happened with battalions of the 76th Air Assault Division, which was the operational reserve in this direction. However, unfortunately, we can state that larger units — regiments, divisions, brigades — remain in place. There are units that have been stationed here near Pokrovsk for years, and they constantly receive reinforcements”, — Polovyi said.
Russian attacks proceed in waves. First, untrained infantrymen — expendable material — are sent into the inter-position space. Then, on their backs, more trained forces or UAV crews advance. The latter strike Ukrainian logistics routes with drones. To stop the enemy advance, Defense Forces drone operators do the same.
“They are driven forward, forced out of these shelters and basements. They are compelled to appear and come under fire. Because of this, they suffer greater losses. Their supply chain from the rear is constantly on the move in an attempt to maintain logistics at the front line. Accordingly, we, on our side, try to strike this entire logistical network”, — Volodymyr Polovyi noted.
