Why we can no longer be divided: Historian Yehor Stadnyi on Unity Day
Historian Yehor Stadnyi spoke about the conditions under which the Act of Unification was proclaimed, who was invited to the event, and what this event means for modern Ukrainians.
He discussed this on Army TV’s podcast.
Yehor Stadnyi noted that for him, as a citizen, Unity Day is associated not so much with 1919, when the Act of Unification was signed, but with 1990, when Ukrainians formed a living chain.
“We have this tradition, and in 1990 there was a clear reference to 1919”, — he said.
