“You go out into an open field and have a picnic”: The 3rd Assault Brigade on why the ‘Classic Infantryman’ matters
On the Kupiansk–Lyman axis, active Russian assaults continue. They are weather-dependent, as weather greatly affects their intensity.
This was stated on Army TV by the Head of Communications of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, call sign “Acrobat”.
According to him, weather conditions now strongly influence combat intensity. Improved weather immediately reduces the number of enemy offensive actions. Conversely, fog and snowfall increase attacks. Under such conditions, the role of “classic” infantry sharply increases.
“You go out into an open field and set up a picnic on the roadside — that ends very quickly for our enemies. But when the weather worsens and we have much less observation, the classic infantryman ‘switches on’. The weather gets worse — and that’s it, the infantryman is back on the spearhead”, — he said.
