This is a story about another attempted enemy infiltration — having lost orientation on the ground, an occupier reached the mortar crew of the 1st Mechanized Battalion of the 63rd Brigade.
Twenty-six-year-old “Malyi” and his comrades received the “guest” according to all the rules.
The story was published on the page of the 63rd Mechanized Brigade.
The enemy approached the dugout where the Defense Forces soldiers were located, believing it was empty. Encountering three Ukrainian soldiers came as a surprise to the occupier.
“We checked him, brought him inside, and when asked where his documents and radios were, he said everything was in his backpack”, — “Malyi” recalls.
Before opening the backpack, the soldiers asked the prisoner what was inside.
“He told me there was a smoke grenade and a bomb that occupiers have recently started issuing. I asked him to show what kind of bomb it was. When I opened the backpack, I saw a large object with an igniter”, — the soldier says.
Despite the brutality and inhumane treatment by the enemy, Ukrainian warriors adhere to the “rules and customs of war”.
“Hungry, cold, he came to us, and he was sick too, coughing. I never thought I’d be making tea for an occupier so he wouldn’t infect us”, — “Malyi” laughs.
