Fighters of the 8th Air Assault Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed two Russian Buk surface-to-air missile systems in a single day on the North Slobozhanskyi axis.
This was reported on the Facebook page of the 8th Corps.
The destroyed systems were Buk-M2 and Buk-M3. The Unmanned Systems Center of the Kursk Group of Forces detected the enemy’s movement and delivered a precise strike.
The occupiers attempted to camouflage their systems in a forest, but they failed to hide from the vigilant eyes of Ukrainian reconnaissance.
The destroyed SAM systems are among the key air defense assets of Russian forces. The enemy also uses them to strike ground targets.
The cost of a Buk-M2 system is approximately $25 million, while the price of a Buk-M3 can reach $45 million. Thus, in just a few minutes, Russia lost air defense equipment worth roughly $70 million.
