President Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard a report from the Ukrainian delegation that recently worked in the United States with the US President’s team, as well as diplomats currently in Davos.
He announced this on January 20 on social media.
He noted that the Russian strike and its consequences clearly outline priorities: strengthening air defense, recovery, and real coordination with partners.
A significant number of Russian ballistic and cruise missiles used in the attack were produced this year, highlighting Russia’s continued ability to bypass sanctions.
The President emphasized large-scale power outages across Ukraine, with more than 5,600 apartment buildings in Kyiv without heating.
Repair crews and utilities will work around the clock to stabilize the situation.
“Our diplomats must work just as actively to ensure Ukraine has enough air defense missiles. Recently, one Patriot package and one NASAMS package arrived — and this helped significantly. Even a one-day delay would have made the consequences much worse”, — Zelenskyy stressed.
He stated that Ukraine is ready to meet with all partners if such meetings genuinely help protect lives and ensure security.
“Our team has prepared everything necessary so that we can sign, including with the United States, documents on security guarantees and Ukraine’s recovery. This must be a historic result, as the largest war since World War II is taking place in Europe”, — the President said.
“If meetings in Davos can bring more protection to real people and real cities and villages in Ukraine, Ukraine will be in Davos”, — he added.
“If partners are not ready, Ukrainian representatives must focus on concrete actions: air defense missiles, energy equipment, and support packages for the front and communities. Every official must deliver results. Thank you to everyone who stands with Ukraine”, — the President concluded.
