Air defense troops of the 80th Galician Air Assault Brigade of the 8th Air Assault Corps demonstrated how to turn an expensive and scarce Russian reconnaissance UAV into a pile of scrap metal.
Footage of the combat operation was published on the brigade’s channel on January 20.
Recently, paratroopers detected an enemy Forpost UAV, estimated to be worth $7.5 million, which was conducting aerial reconnaissance of Ukrainian Defense Forces’ positions. The hostile drone was immediately destroyed.
The downed Forpost reconnaissance UAV is already the second on the account of the 80th Brigade’s air defense troops. The first was shot down over Sumy Oblast in the summer of 2025.
