President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the enemy’s targets included Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, Vinnytsia Oblast, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Odesa Oblast, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava Oblast, Sumy Oblast, and other regions.
He said this on the morning of January 20.
“The Russian strike involved a significant number of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as more than 300 attack drones. Our air defense forces engaged a substantial number of targets. A day before this strike, we finally received the necessary missiles, and this helped significantly. Every support package matters”, — Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote.
According to him, missiles for Patriots, NASAMS, and other air defense systems are critically necessary.
“The direct task of our entire diplomatic system is to work so that Ukraine has sufficient air defense assets. And partners must not fail in this — air defense missiles are real protection of people’s lives”,— the President emphasized.
He added that a special energy coordination meeting will determine full details of the consequences of the attack and the necessary resources to restore electricity, heat, and water supplies.
The most difficult situation is in Kyiv, where a significant number of residential buildings are without heating.
“It is important that the world does not remain silent about this. Russia cannot be treated as equal to other countries of the world while it is focused only on killings and abuse of people. All Ukrainian officials, everyone responsible for the work of state institutions, regional and local authorities, and Ukrainian energy companies must be in Ukraine now — working, helping people, and striving to stabilize the situation”, — the President concluded.
